JAZZ TRIANGLE 65-77 is a New York–based jazz trio featuring flutist Haruna Fukazawa, guitarist Shu Odamura, and bassist Aki Yamamoto. All three members are originally from Japan and share musical backgrounds in both jazz and classical traditions.
With its unique instrumentation of flute, guitar, and bass, the trio creates a warm, intimate acoustic sound that is deeply rooted in jazz tradition while embracing a contemporary sensibility and sense of exploration. Their repertoire includes both jazz standards and original compositions, and the fact that all three members are composers as well as instrumentalists strengthens the ensemble’s distinctive “triangle” identity.
The trio released its debut album in 2017, followed by tours in Japan and an album release performance at Blue Note New York. In 2018, they toured Japan and Bangkok. Their second album, Sounds, Shapes and Deformations, was released in 2021.
